Casino night fundraiser 2023- save the date march 24th

Each March we host our biggest fundraiser of the year to help us in continuing with the work we do and to bring awareness to the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking within our communities. Thanks to our amazingly supportive sponsors and attendees, we were able to break the record this year with 2022's event bringing in a whopping $68,549.16! Stay tuned for the 2023 event where we hope to raise even more for survivors of violence.

Our Story

In 2018, Kinzie with Sara's Project, Kathy with the Family Shelter, and Kaylyn with Community Youth Services (then the Children's Shelter) sat down to figure out how to meet increased needs in the community for the holidays. With the shared mentality of "making it happen", the Directors formed a close friendship and a collaboration was born. In the years since, needs which can't be met by one agency are often able to be filled by the others. It takes a village.

Being part of the "village" means frantic phone calls, quick text messages, late nights, early mornings, loading down personal cars with bikes for Christmas delivery, dropping off donation checks to each other, putting together food for families, digging through coats for a specific size, shivering in the cold, sweating in the heat, sharing tears of frustration and rants full of anger, cheering the successes and laughing through the not-so-successes... and it works. We are the village.

In this village, we believe that every child deserves a safe home.

In this village, we believe that no child should ever be scared to go home.

In this village, we believe that no child should go hungry.

In this village, we believe that no child should be sad that Santa didn't visit.

In this village, we believe that every child deserves a warm coat and comfy bed.

In this village, we believe that every child is one caring adult away from being a success story.

In this village, we will fight because we are in the first and last line of defense for hurting children. We don't turn away. We don't give up.
