We open our resource shed to the community in loving memory of Kenna Kirkpatrick, a dedicated advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault for over 15 years. Kenna's unwavering commitment to her mission transformed the lives of countless individuals, providing them with hope and a path to freedom. Her tenacity and fierce dedication earned her the affectionate nickname "bulldog," a testament to her relentless fight for justice on behalf of her clients.
Kenna was not just a fierce advocate; she was also a mentor who inspired her team with the same passion and determination she brought to her work. Under her guidance, she shaped a new generation of advocates, instilling in them the skills and courage needed to carry on her vital work.
Known for her resourcefulness, Kenna maintained a "shed" filled with items essential for those embarking on a new life, free from abuse. When a call came in, she would say with a smile, "Let me check my shed." More often than not, she had just what was needed, and if not, she would tirelessly seek out the resources to fulfill the request.
Kenna's life was a testament to the power of compassion and strength. Her passion for helping others knew no bounds, and her legacy continues to inspire us all to create a safe and supportive community. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those whose lives are changed by her shed.
